Rossi
Mr.
Rossi is a composer and pianist/synthesist proficient in the contemporary
classical, jazz, and world music idioms. He has also studied North
Indian classical music with sitarist Peter Row, and the form and
structure of South Indian classical music with Geetha Ramanathan
Bennett and R. Prasanna. Together with Peter Row, Rossi has formed
a collaborative called The Row and Rossi Project which is forging
a new musical language of explorations in raga and jazz. Their
debut concert was held on December 20, 1998.
Marc
has performed, toured, and recorded with George Russell's Living
Time Orchestra, The Jimmy Giuffre 4, Bo Diddley, The Robert Moore
Quartet, Stan Strickland and Ascension, Lewis Porter, The Marc
Rossi Group, Ben Schwendener, Natraj, and the Row and Rossi Project,
to name a few. He performed on Russell's landmark recording "African
Game," which received two Grammy nominations.
